Log Cabin Homes Ltd Better Business Bureau® Profile

Log Cabin Homes Staff regrets to see that any of our customers are dissatisfied with the services that we provide. While we value our customers and do not wish to participate any public forum disagreements we do feel compelled to point some facts and clarify some issues listed in this complaint. You and my customer service representative, Tina have been a great blessing to our family. Because she owns a log home herself, I think she was able to help me so much better.

As they are Pine logs there has been some sap weeping but it has been minimal at best and only on very few outside surfaces and never on the inside of the log. The logs are smooth to the touch on both the inside and the outside with no rough patches. All of the log surfaces on the inside are flush with one another.

ORIGINAL LOG CABIN HOMES

Several long phone calls & sales pitches ensued & We agreed to pay them 10% down ($5,100.00) to start the process. After that, We received a few fancy packets of info & thought everything was going good. I filed a complaint with the BBB & their response was to say the deposit was miniscule & non-refundable due to the large amount of work that they had put into the project. They also claimed that some "hungry" log cabin builder had underbid them & I was trying to cancel for that reason. I have not settled on another company yet, but have resumed my search for an honest company. We are simply trying to get what we have paid for.

We would highly recommend eLoghomes to anyone who wants a top-notch home and a professional partner to design and build it. A new rep was assigned and did a fairly good job at catching up in the beginning. Unfortuantely this is the first and only house we have ever built or plan to build, so we did not know every area to cover. Almost every important discussion was had after the fact, when we would discover a lack of information some how. Typically there would be an additional charge required to rectify this issue; some we paid for and some we did not.

Business ProfileforThe Original Log Cabin Homes

As for the BBB, open and read each complaint to the end. ELoghomes is a premier manufacturer and installer of log cabin home packages, offering log home kits that range from small cabins to luxury log homes. We ship and work across the U.S. and many other countries worldwide.

Visually the logs have a very uniform appearance. There are of course knots which enhance the look, but there is no extreme knotting that would affect the quality or look of the logs. We inspected the logs after delivery but prior to construction and found all of the machining of grooves and notches to be very good.

BUSINESS SERVICES

This was an emergency and it was never handled properly. I only found out that they canceled my order when I tried to get a tracking number after they didn't arrive on time. Sunset Lodge – we had the name before we had even dreamed of how our cabin would look. When we were looking at the land to purchase, we met the neighbors who told us that many locals came to the end of the dead end road in the evenings to view the sunset. As we stayed there that evening and watched the sun go down, we understood why…it was the most beautiful sunset we had ever seen…setting over the pine trees that appeared as rolling hills.

I have told all of them that if they ever consider purchasing a log home from a company that was not willing to work with their budget then they are talking to the wrong company. They’ve got to know what they want in their home and cannot be afraid to ask. You all have been so helpful and were able to meet every expectation we have had. Tracy has not only been very attentive to our needs, I have to express what a pleasure she was to talk to. Though we had to halt our purchase from your company due to a clouded title, she helped us find our dream home. Tracy listened to our needs and was able to execute our dream cabin.

Most Recent Customer Complaint

It is true that Log Cabin Homes will work with self-builders and we will provide support and assistance as needed, however there must be at least a general knowledge of residential construction present. In this case that general knowledge is not present and LCH staff recommended that this consumer employ an experienced builder at least on a consultation basis. Most of the arguments and claims listed in the complaint would have been avoided or would not have existed at all had there been someone with some type of home building experience on the other end of the transaction. This particular consumer claims that they scanned the internet for other complaints and was shocked at the lack of complaints. After several months of searching, We decided to purchase a log cabin home kit from "The Original Log Cabin Homes" company.

In a structurally secure manner to handle our snow load. Log Cabin Homes provided one of the best experiences of our lifetime. It’s always been a dream to live in a Log Home and Log Cabin Homes provided us with many options. As we choose the Alpine Ridge floor layout , my wife and I changed the original floor plans many times. They were so accommodating when changing the features such as adding the fireplace, moving or adding windows, walls and other features of the original plan.

This is the best way to manage and repair your business reputation. Consumers want to see how a business took care of business. It is more efficient that we originally anticipated. Our last utility bill for our 2,000 square foot home was around $64.00. I have had many people ask about the home and your company.

This year’s event included 21 builders and 31 home entries, an increase from last year. New home construction has also shown an increase in the last two years, and some predict new homes will continue to increase in 2015. Last month, The Marion County Building Industry Association held the 2015 Spring Parade of Homes. Curington Homes is proud to display our Sebastian VI model home in Ocala, Florida’s 2021 Spring Parade of Homes.

365 5 Lessons From Billionaire, Ken Langone Home Depot Co-Founder

Originally founded in 1911 as a purveyor of home furnishings, its online division—only—was acquired by THD in 2017. The Home Depot has over 90 distribution centers throughout the United States to serve over 2,000 The Home Depot stores. In January 2022, The Home Depot announced Craig Menear would be stepping down as the CEO and president effective March 1, 2022, while continuing to serve as the chairman of the board. He was replaced by former executive vice president Ted Decker. The practice was stopped, and Home Depot offered a year of free credit monitoring through AllClearID for any customers who requested it. There were also reports of credit card numbers being stolen when used to make purchases on Homedepot.com.

Capitalism is a system that works for everyone who wants to participate in it. While some people believe capitalism only helps a select, privileged few, Ken proved otherwise. He grew up in a home that didn't have air in the summer or heat in the winter.

Instead of accepting his reality, he set out to change it. Ken is a longtime Republican and a top donor to the party. That doesn't mean he always endorses Republican candidates, however. He votes on how a candidate's views align with his own.

As soon as he was old enough, he began picking up odd jobs to support his family. Billionaire Ken Langone, one of the founders of The Home Depot, grew up poor. His dad was a plumber and his mom worked in the school cafeteria. What they lacked in material things, they made up for in unconditional love and richness of family and community. In July 2022, Langone helped found a group of U.S. business and policy leaders who share the goal of constructively engaging with China in order to improve U.S.-China relations. Langone was chairman of the New York Stock Exchange's Compensation Committee from 1999 to 2003.

More From Capitalism.com

Seven people were killed in the front of the store when the 100,000-pound walls collapsed on them, while 28 people in the back of the store survived when those walls collapsed outward. Only two of the slab walls in the Home Depot survived. In contrast, three people died in the Walmart but 200 survived. Engineers noted that when concrete block construction fails, structural elements break in pieces and usually not in huge slabs.

In Quebec, where it has 22 stores, The Home Depot is branded simply Home Depot (using English words but without the definite article "The"). The Home Depot ceased to be a sponsor of the Canadian Olympic Team in 2005 and ended a sponsorship program for the United States Olympic team in 2009. Interline Brands has over 90 distribution centers throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico that serve customer needs for MRO supplies.

The foundation also leads giving programs for each of the Blank Family of Businesses, including the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the PGA TOUR Superstore. Through the foundation and his family’s personal giving, Arthur has donated more than $400 million to various charitable organizations. He’s a person I love with all my heart and who's been a mentor of mine for several years. He's Ken Langone, the Cofounder of The Home Depot and Chairman of NYU Langone Health. Now, here's a guy who's had more success than you could ever imagine in almost every way you could think about it.

By 2006, the company was named #186 on the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, as well as the 10th fastest-growing e-commerce company on the list. In 2009, Blinds.com was given the Marketer of the Year Award by the American Marketing Association, in recognition of its innovative marketing strategy. This led to the company's patent-pending Instafit shade product.

The book traces the growth of the Home Depot from its inception under Bernie Marcus to more challenging times under the fractured leadership of Bob Nardelli to the gains achieved under the inspired direction of Frank Blake. Since 2015, the company’s chairman and CEO has been Craig Menear. Ken Langone was always the one working powerfully behind the scenes, wielding his influence to force change when it was needed but also to recognize achievements and celebrate accomplishments. Bernie Marcus took me through one of the first stores, telling me that he wanted it to be messy to give customers the feeling of merchandise excitement. The overwhelming size of the store and its broad assortment of brands was excitement enough for me to be convinced of its viability and Home Depot’s growth potential. Since that time, the notion of a messy store has given way to orderly, neat stores – all overwhelmingly filled with home improvement merchandise.

Your Other Warehouse, a large plumbing distributor with a focus on special order fulfillment, was acquired by The Home Depot in 2001. Your Other Warehouse also supplied two divisions of The Home Depot and the EXPO Design Centers. The "EXPO Design Center" division was reorganized in 2001 with three divisions based in the Northeast at South Plainfield, New Jersey, the West at Orange, California, and the Southeast at Atlanta, Georgia. The Home Depot was co-founded by Bernard Marcus, Arthur Blank, Ron Brill, Pat Farrah, and Ken Langone in 1978. The Home Depot's proposition was to build home-improvement superstores, larger than any of their competitors' facilities.

Bernie even donated $250 million to build the Georgia Aquarium for the people of Atlanta. In 2018 Langone pledged $100 million in funding towards a $450 million program to make tuition free for all medical students at the NYU School of Medicine. In September 2012, Home Depot agreed to pay $100,000 and furnish other relief to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, for the alleged failure to provide a reasonable accommodation for a cashier with cancer at its Towson, Maryland, store and then for purportedly firing her because of her condition. The Home Depot operates 126 stores and has become one of the largest retailers in Mexico since it entered the market in 2001. The Home Depot increased its presence in Mexico in 2004, with the acquisition of Home Mart, the second largest Mexican home improvement retailer.

Their arrival into the series coincided with Tony Stewart leaving the Indy Racing League to join the NASCAR Cup Series. Stewart drove The Home Depot-sponsored No. 20 car for Joe Gibbs Racing until 2008, winning 2 of his 3 series championships in the car, and was succeeded by Joey Logano, who took the car to victory lane twice. On June 23, 2014, the company announced it would end its NASCAR sponsorship after 2014. The Home Depot made no formal association with the Falcons until April 2017, when The Home Depot acquired the naming rights to the 11-acre park adjacent to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Home Depot Backyard occupies the site of the former Georgia Dome, and serves as parking and tailgating space during Falcons' and Atlanta United FC home games and public use greenspace during non-event days. Online seller of textile and textile goods for the home decor market.

He's even been featured on 60 Minutes for his breakthrough thinking at NYU Langone Health. He's an incredible business leader and a renowned philanthropist. And one thing will be absolutely clear when you listen to this conversation. The reason why he's had so much success is his deep down belief in the power of people. There's no doubt Ken believes that you have to recognize people, recognize talent, believe in them and show up for the people you have the privilege to lead. On September 8, 2014, Home Depot confirmed that their payment systems were compromised.

We’ve seen what smart entrepreneurs can accomplish. They take ownership of problems, they create solutions, and they serve the global community. All while creating the kind of wealth that changes lives. No government can match their effectiveness and financial stewardship. And no message shouts “FREEDOM” louder than their success. Ken Lagone's story proves anyone can achieve success in a capitalist society.

It all came together in Atlanta in 1979, when the first two of the original four stores were opened. The high-ceilinged warehouses were 55,000 to 75,000 square feet in size, far larger than any home improvement center had ever been. Langone serves as the chair of the Board of Trustees of the NYU Langone Medical Center.

In September 2005, Home Depot Direct launched its online home-furnishings store, 10 Crescent Lane, shortly followed by the launch of "Paces Trading Company," its online lighting store. In mid-2006, the Home Depot acquired Home Decorators Collection, which was placed as an additional brand under its Home Depot Direct division. In 1979, the first two stores, built in spaces leased from J. C. Penney that were originally Treasure Island "hypermarket" stores, opened in metro Atlanta (in Doraville and on Memorial Drive in Decatur, both near I-285) on June 22, 1979. On September 22, 1981, The Home Depot went public on the NASDAQ and raised $4.093 million.

Who is Ken Langone? All about the Home Depot billionaire!

The subsidiaries of Interline Brands are now companies of The Home Depot. On January 2, 2007, the Home Depot and Robert Nardelli mutually agreed on Nardelli's resignation as CEO after a six-year tenure. His severance package of $210 million was criticized because when the stock went down, his pay went up.

The increased expansion of The Home Depot in the mid-1980s created financial difficulties with earnings falling by 42% and debt rising to $200 million. The financial difficulties of The Home Depot also caused the stock price to fall. To curb The Home Depot difficulties it opened only 10 stores in 1986 with a stock offering 2.99 million shares at $17 per share which helped The Home Depot to restructure its debts. Ken Langone, the billionaire co-founder of Home Depot, announced last year that he'd help pay for the tuition of New York University medical students.

Multi-billionaire Home Depot co-founder reveals why the company stocked shelves with empty boxes in its early days

In 1968, Perot put Ken in charge of the IPO for his company, Electronic Data Systems. It all stemmed from an abrasive relationship the founders had with Sandy Sigoloff, CEO of Daylin. At the time, Bernie Marcus was working for Sigoloff as CEO of Handy Dan, a home improvement company. Daylin owned 81% of the stock while Ken Langone owned 16% of the 19% public stock, but corporate infighting created such a stressful situation that Langone forced the sale of his Handy Dan stock. Longtime Republican billionaire donor heavily criticized President Trump’s actions following the 2020 presidential election in an interview with CNBC on Wednesday.

Home Depot Cofounder Ken Langone Says He Feels ‘Betrayed’ By Trump Following The Capitol Hill Riot

The success of The Home Depot inspired him to say “thank you” to its hometown – Atlanta – by giving back. With his wife, Billi, Bernie started The Marcus Foundation to support medical research, Jewish causes, children, free enterprise and the community. He founded the Marcus Autism Center and has given millions to medical research and facilities.

For example, Home Depot planted thousands of trees at its headquarters in Atlanta to offset carbon emissions. In 2007, The Home Depot Foundation (the company's charitable foundation) committed to investing $100 million over the next decade to build over 100,000 green affordable homes and plant 3,000,000 trees. In 1989, The Home Depot became the largest home improvement store in the United States, surpassing Lowe's. In the 1990s The Home Depot searched for ways to redefine its marketplace. An installation program for quality home improvement items, such as windows or carpets, was launched in 1991 called the EXPO with success. A 480-page book Home Improvement was published in 1995.

Here's why Home Depot's billionaire co-founder is helping pay tuition for every NYU med school student

You don't have to grow up with a silver spoon in your mouth, and you don't need any special connections. With the right drive, mindset, and ideas, you can live the capitalist dream and help others achieve their goals in the process. "People should not be punished for being paid lots of money, provided they deliver. It's up to us as capitalists to make sure that the tide does indeed lift all boats. That's our challenge, and that's our responsibility."

Ken Langone, just like Donald Trump, went off on a tangent and lost his way for seven minutes. Here is Joan Baez talking about Donald Trump and crew and their lack of empathy. They have money from people like Langone, but they lack empathy.

Ken Langone: From Broke Student to Home Depot Multi-Billionaire

Hughes Supply was integrated into The Home Depot Supply to better serve business-to-business customers. The Home Depot Supply rebranded under the new name HD Supply in January 2007. Five months later The Home Depot sold HD Supply to a consortium of three private equity firms, The Carlyle Group, Bain Capital and Clayton, Dubilier and Rice (with each agreeing to buy a one-third stake in the division).

In April 2011, Home Depot shut its last Beijing store, the fifth Home Depot to close in China in the previous two years. In September 2012, The Home Depot announced it was closing all big box stores in China. The Home Depot retained two specialty stores in China, a Home Decorators Collection Store and a paint and flooring store.

Ms. Campbell has been employed by Home Depot for over 30 years, beginning as a cashier in a branch in South Florida. Her most recent role was as president of Home Depot's Southern division. In 2006, the Home Depot acquired Hughes Supply the largest home retailer in the United States for $3.2 billion.

Who is Ken Langone?

In 2018, Ken discovered the incredible amount of debt students incurred to attend medical school. He spoke with a pediatrician who was still repaying her student loans 30 years later. The same woman also believed she would die in debt helping her son pay for medical school at NYU. He donated $10 million to NYU's part-time MBA program in 1999 and $200 million to the university's medical center in 2008, which was renamed NYU Langone Health.

It's only natural to wonder how much money Ken brings home in a year. Ask him how much he's worth, and you'll get a blunt response. "I don't really know, and I don't care what I'm worth."

The label promotes energy conservation, sustainable forestry, and clean water. "Who in the world has a chance to have a bigger impact on this sector than Home Depot?" asked Ron Jarvis, vice president for environmental innovation at Home Depot. This program is following The Home Depot's promise in the late 1990s to eliminate the number of sales of lumber from endangered forests in countries including Chile and Indonesia. Home Depot has since worked with environmental groups to create a variety of green programs.

Today, Ken and his wife—both alumni—remain the school's biggest donors. Luckily for Ken, the dean's assistant graciously lent him the money. Although he repaid the loan a long time ago, he still feels indebted to his alma mater.

Maryville is home to Northwest Missouri State University. This small rural town encourages the arts and adds new sculptures to the town each year at the annual Art, Rhythm, and Brews event. This celebration of public art showcases three stages of live music, craft beer, wine tastings, interactive art displays, and food tastings from local restaurants. When looking for fun, locals can be found taking a class or playing a sport at the community center.
